Passport Services Update  

The Ministry of Immigration wishes to inform the public that 30,000 passport books have landed and received at the Immigration Office in Suva. This batch is part of the 100,000 books that is being printed by our supplier in Germany.  The remaining 70,000 will arrive in Fiji over the next few months. The process of ordering another 100,000 has commenced.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Extension of the “Adherence to Application Requirements and Processing Guidelines”. The Ministry of Immigration advises that the “Adherence to Application Requirements and Processing Guidelines” has been extended for three (3) months, from June to August 2025. This follows its effective date on 8th May 2025.

Passport Services Update

The Ministry of Immigration wishes to inform the public that 30,000 passport books have landed and received at the Immigration Office in Suva. This batch is part of the 100,000 books that is being printed by our supplier in Germany.  The remaining 70,000 will arrive in Fiji over the next few months. The process of ordering another 100,000 has commenced.

These new books have been modified with a new electronic chip that meet the latest International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards. The new passport books have 32 pages compared to the previous books that has 64 pages.

The printing of passports for applications lodged between 06 January and 02 August 2025, which were on hold due to shortage of books, began on Thursday, 07 August.  A total of 3,000 passports will be printed and ready for collection starting Monday, 11 August 2025.

The Passport collection time will be from 09:00am to 07.00pm (Monday to Friday). Members of the public are kindly requested to carefully check the collection schedule in the table below and only come in on the date specified for your collection. The schedule is to assist in the orderly collection of passport books and reduce unnecessary congestion at the collection office.

Applicants who have confirmed appointments online are not affected and should visit their respective Immigration Offices on the scheduled date and time. In addition, for those who wish to lodge passport application but are unable to book an online appointment in time, our Office will commence receiving manual application from
4:00pm to 8:00pm to accommodate walk-in customers.

Any update on this whole passport backlog clearance work will be posted on the Immigration Website, Facebook page and the Fiji Government Facebook.
